TimeTime

I sometimes wake up to a feeling that Time is swooshing past me as if I were a small platform lost in the countryside. If you feel it, you might also register these split-second fits of terror. What is the last station like? Or what if I am forever where I am standing and my life will just pass by? Which scares you more?

We often perceive this last station of our life as if the starry sky were shut down at once, and it feels so unbelievably lonely.

I find it so helpful to remind myself that this is the thought that scares me. I can stop thinking it. My life and your life create the ripples which will be remembered long after we get off this train. We are in the full power to create them at any age.

What about anxiety? Ironically, time flies in "flow", but it also expands in retrospect, depending on how much we record. Our brain tends to shrink time when we live automatically. But we can regain control by looking at things with humble attention without labeling them. It's so good to be here! Let's spell it: I breathe, I feel, I see, I hear. Now your universe is performing its dance.
